One of my 4th grade students asked if we could have parent/teacher conferences at my house. I asked him why and he said he wanted to play with my dog. Then he asked if my dog bites people. I told him no. The student proceeded to tell me that his dog bites.... and his dog is really big. I thought he was going to tell me his dog was a Pitbull or Bulldog. Instead he informed me (very intensely) that his dog was a "canine"!
