I went to Barnes and Noble after work and bought two CD's: Howie Day and Jack Johnson. I love music and felt the need to add new CD's to my library.
I always tie music to certain people, places, or things. For example, I think of my good friend Susan (who hates blogs) when I listen to Howie Day. The first time I heard one of his CD's I was in riding in her new BMW. Jack Johnson reminds me of laying by the pool with my friend Pam. It also reminds me of Key West. We went on an all day snorkeling trip and the crew on the boat played some Jack Johnson songs.
Tomorrows ride to work won't seem so long now that I have two new CD's to enjoy.

It is so true that you relate music to people or times. I used to go up to Maryland (Chesapeake Bay Area, Baltimore) to visit family and they used to always play Paul Simon during blue crab cook outs after we caught all the crabs. Every time I hear Paul Simon I think of the fun we had. Paula Abdul reminds me of Elaina "teaching" my sister and I her moves and making routines. Ha Ha.
Hi! Just stumbled on your blog. I'm a fellow teacher and I also recently bought Jack Johnson's new CD. It's one of those things that you play when you need an escape. Happy listening!
