Busy Weekend

Saturday night Supin and I went with some friends to see the singing comedian Steven Lynch. The guy is a talented comedian and he has a great voice. However, his material is really raunchy and not PL (don't say I didn't warn you).

Sunday night Supin and I went to see the Falcons lose to the Panthers. The ride on Marta was sucky but it is public transportation. What was I really expecting.

Today was a busy day at work. I left on time with my exploding bag of papers to grade at home. The bag is still in the car and I am going to bed.

I got it!

I got my new laptop, an Acer Aspire. I can't wait to get it up and running!

Gross but Interesting

BODIES: The Exhibition shows real human bodies, preserved through an innovative process and then respectfully presented. Experience the human body like never before at The Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.

I've watched it more than once and it makes me laugh every time.

You must view the video clip of this boy singing and dancing. I found it to be very entertaining, although that's not saying much.

Coming to Atlanta and I would like to go...

Movie Review

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night. I would give it a C+.

What I Liked:
Grandpa Joe (very funny)
Charlie (too cute)
Johnny Depp (he's hot - just not in this movie)
Willy's flashbacks to his childhood (gave the movie a new twist)

What I Didn't Like:
The Oompa-Loompas (very scary, terrorist type little men)
The Music (the songs sucked)
The Factory (too industrial looking)
Johnny Depp's hair (just plain weird)
Tim Burton's filming style (never really liked it)

Funny Stuff

Dancing Roommate: A guy caught his roommate dancing to a little C&C Music Factory. This one is a "must see".

Nintendo Choir: This choir sings Nintendo songs acapella. Listen and you will hear Mario Brothers, Zelda and Tetris. It's really pretty impressive. There is also some amusing choreography.

Photo Copy of a Butt: A surveillance camera catches a worker pulling down his pants and climbing on to the copy machine. This one has a very funny ending...

Sideline Dancer: This is a video from the 80's (which is entertaining in itself). Check out the boy on the sideline.

FREE Concerts

I am totally looking forward to 99x's free summer concerts series - Downtown Rocks at Underground. They have a great line up, like Ben Folds, Cake and Weezer - just to name a few...

Park Tavern also has a free summer concert series - Unplugged in the Park. Their line up looks pretty good too. I am going to check out Red Letter Agent and Bobby Yang.

Girlfriends and Poop #2

I have the best girlfriends! When things are shitty they are always there for me.

Pammie got me a CD I have been wanting, the new Coldplay.

Cora pooped in her potty again - yeah for poop #2!

Fernbank

Pam and I took Cora to Fernbank today. She loved this electric ball thingy.

Pam and Cora take a walk through the nose. This was part of the Grossology (the impolite science of the human body) exhibit.

Hit Me Baby One More Time

Remember these bands and singers: A Flock of Seagulls, Arrested Development, Lover Boy, Tiffany, Wang Chung, Sophie B. Hawkins, Cameo, Tommy Tutone, Vanilla Ice and The Motels? They will all be performing on a new show called Hit Me Baby One More Time. The show finds hitmakers from the past and has them take the stage in a new competition. Former Top Ten artists will return to perform their trademark hit song along with one of today's current hits. At the end of the night, the live audience votes for their favorites.

This good be really good or really bad but definitely entertaining. Be sure to tune into NBC on Thursday night at 9pm.

I just bought a new CD, Anna Nalick's debut album Wreck of the Day. It's got some great songs, reminds me of Tori Amos and Fiona Apple.

Spit and Steve Harvey

I was reading an interview with Will Farrell in the latest Disney Adventures magazine. The interview was about the new movie Kicking and Screaming. Will Farrell made a reference to his freshman basketball coach. Will said that his coach was really "over the top. He would get so excited that spit would fly out of his mouth." That made me think of my high school choir director, Mr. M.. When he would really get into a song, you could see the sweat on the armpits of his shirt and spit would fly out of his mouth too. The spit would also start to clump in the corners of his mouth. I remember my friends and I used to get really grossed out!
